Rare Disease Run 2026

February 24 @ 8:00 am - March 1 @ 5:00 pm CET

We are proud to be one of 44 patient advocacy associations and groups in the field of rare diseases in Germany and Austria that are once again joining forces for the RARE DISEASES RUN 2026!

The RARE DISEASES RUN is Europe's largest virtual running event for rare diseases, with over 4,000 participants in 2024, and we are proud to be one of the 11 new rare disease associations from Germany and Austria to join the RARE DISEASES RUN!

From 25 February to 1 March 2026, take part in the 5th edition of the Race for Rare Diseases, a virtual event to celebrate Rare Disease Day. Anyone can take part. You don't have to be a professional athlete to sign up; anyone can run for a good cause. You can choose your distance and show your support.

Every kilometer helps raise funds and support 44 rare disease organizations united behind the Rare Disease Run. Participation fees will be distributed equally among these organizations.

You also have the opportunity to select a specific organization and support it directly with a donation.

This is how you can take part:

Registration costs €10 and is open until 25 February 2026. You can choose between a simple online registration (with a printable certificate) or opt for additional benefits such as a medal and T-shirt. You can choose the distance (from 500m to a marathon) and how you want to take part (running or walking).

When registering, don't forget:

  • Enter “DupMECP2” under “Organization/Association”!
  • You can allocate your donation to a specific organization - including DupMECP2!
