A duplication of the MECP2 gene leads to the overexpression of the MeCP2 protein, which is present in all the body\u2019s cells. APTEEUS\u2122 has chosen to use fibroblasts derived from patients\u2019 skin to demonstrate the overexpression of the protein and to attempt to regulate it using molecules already in use for other indications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Out of more than 5,000 molecules tested in a screening programme, APTEEUS\u2122 identified several molecules capable of reducing the levels of the MeCP2 protein in the cells of two patients from the association. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">APTEEUS\u2122 is currently collecting data on each of the selected molecules so that we can assess their medical value in consultation with doctors.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"561\" src=\"https:\/\/dupmecp2.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/illustrationcriblage-1400x767-1-1024x561.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3101\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dupmecp2.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/illustrationcriblage-1400x767-1-1024x561.png 1024w, https:\/\/dupmecp2.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/illustrationcriblage-1400x767-1-300x164.png 300w, https:\/\/dupmecp2.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/illustrationcriblage-1400x767-1-768x421.png 768w, https:\/\/dupmecp2.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/illustrationcriblage-1400x767-1-600x329.png 600w, https:\/\/dupmecp2.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/illustrationcriblage-1400x767-1.png 1400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Illustration of the screening results.
