We know that caring for a child with MECP2 Duplication Syndrome often comes with more than just emotional challenges.
It also brings practical and financial burdens — therapies, equipment, treatments, and support that are not always covered.
Today, we are pleased to announce that the DupMECP2 Family Support Fund is now up and running 💛
This fund was created to offer real, practical help to families who are navigating these challenges every day.
Our goal is simple: to ease part of the burden so families can focus on what matters most — their child.
The fund can support costs such as:
- Therapies and medical treatments
- Essential medical equipment
- Travel related to care
- Psychological support for families
Who can apply?
This first phase of the program is focused on families living in Europe, as part of our initial pilot.
→ Families in the United States can access a dedicated support program through the MECP2 Duplication Foundation.
→ Families from the rest of the world are warmly invited to register their interest, so we can better understand needs and expand the program globally in the future.
Before applying
To be eligible, your child must be registered in the REMEDS registry.
REMEDS is our global platform that helps improve understanding of MECP2 Duplication Syndrome and accelerate research.
By participating, you contribute to a better future for the entire community.
How to apply?
The process is simple and starts with REMEDS:
- Go to remeds.org and log into your account (or create one)
- Register your child in the REMEDS registry
- Go to the “Family Support” section and complete the application form
- Send the required documents (quotes) by email to office@dupmecp2.eu
We know that asking for support is not always easy.
But please remember — you are not alone in this.
This fund exists because of a shared commitment:
families supporting families, together.
This fund exists thanks to the trust and support of our partners.
We warmly thank Octapharma and Ionis for helping turn this initiative into real support for families.
